Lost Debate is launching a Spanish language YouTube and podcast show to break through the polarization of the news, ideas, and trends of the day. The host will work directly with producers and editorial team to develop and shape the voice, scope, and personality of this new show on the Lost Debate network.

Responsibilities: 

  • Co-host Lost Debate’s new twice-weekly Spanish language news show, providing the audience with a breakdown of important developments in news, culture, and politics.
  • Work with our editorial team and producers to write, pitch stories worth covering, and develop creative segments around Lost Debate’s values.

Qualifications: 

  • Alignment with Lost Debate’s values and beliefs.
  • Excellent written and verbal Spanish skills. 
  • A political eclectic with a thick skin for robust debate and disagreement, and a burning curiosity.
  • Experience in broadcast journalism is ideal but we’d consider other candidates with a strong level of comfort in front of the camera.
  • The ability to think on their feet, improvise on camera, interview guests and create rapport with the audience.
  • An engaging personality and a good sense of humor.
  • The ability to spot and produce excellent writing.
  • The ability to show high attention to detail and meet deadlines under tight time pressure.
  • 3+ years of experience in journalism is ideal.

This position is based in New York, NY, and offers a base starting salary of $110K + benefits, with additional incentives.

Lost Debate va empezar un programa de noticias en español por YouTube y podcasts con el objetivo de informar, discutir ideas, y bajar la cantidad de polarización que vemos hoy día en nuestra sociedad. El presentador/reportero trabajaría directamente con productores de televisión y editores para crear una voz y personalidad para este nuevo programa de Lost Debate.

Responsabilidades:

  • Co-anfitrión del nuevo noticiero Lost Debate, que se transmite dos veces por semana, brindando a su audiencia un análisis sobre el desarrollo de noticias, cultura y política.

The Role:

Lost Debate seeks to hire a Podcast Producer who will oversee the audio production of select shows in the Lost Debate network and support new show development. The ideal candidate is an established Podcast Producer with a passion for Lost Debate’s mission and a track record of excellence in audio journalism.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the creation of A+ narrative-style and interview-style podcasts that align with Lost Debate’s vision and mission.
  • Own the production process from start to finish on assigned programs, producing an average of two weekly shows and two special projects at a time.
  • Collaborate with editorial teams and hosts to develop divisions of responsibility, reporting plans, creative development, and scripts.
  • Coordinate with other members of the Lost Debate team to maximize the show’s audience by supporting advertisement operations and data analysis.
  • Provide editing and production support to additional Lost Debate programs as needed.
  • Contribute to Lost Debate’s culture and provide additional support as needed across the company.

  • A heterodox set of views, a thick skin for robust debate and disagreement, and a burning curiosity.
  • Skilled at providing regular, precise, and actionable feedback to a variety of stakeholders.

  • 3+ years of experience in audio editing and production.

The Role:

Lost Debate seeks to hire a Video Editor who will be responsible for the day-to-day video production and editing of shows in the Lost Debate network, including the Desi Crime Podcast, the #1 True Crime podcast in India. 

Responsibilities:

  • Edit video for the Desi Crime Podcast, including episodic and social videos.
  • Lead asset gathering for Desi Crime Podcast.
  • Support hosts with pitches, soliciting interview subjects, and booking shoots.
  • Provide video editing and production support to other Lost Debate productions, including our flagship show.
  • Contribute to Lost Debate’s culture and provide additional support as needed across the company.

Qualifications: 

  • Alignment with Lost Debate’s values and beliefs.
  • A heterodox set of views, a thick skin for robust debate and disagreement, and a burning curiosity.
  • Video editing whiz with proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro and Adobe After Effects.
  • Familiarity with social media video strategy on Youtube, Instagram, and TikTok. 
  • Able to find creative, visual ways to tell important stories.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self starter and quick learner who will take initiative and finish tasks to completion. 
  • 2+ years of experience in video editing and production.

This position is based in New York, NY, and offers a starting salary of $70K + benefits.

  • Strong proficiency in video editing on Adobe Premiere Pro and Tiktok.
  • Familiarity with social media video strategy on TikTok, Instagram, and Youtube.
  • Able to find creative, visual ways to tell important stories that may not inherently have a strong visual element.
  • A news and ideas obsessive who enjoys engaging with the issues of the day.
  • Self-starter and quick learner who will take initiative and finish tasks to completion.
  • 1+ years of experience in news or production is a plus.

From The Lost Debate and hosted by Gen-Zers Aryaan Misra and Aishwarya Singh, this #1 ranked Indian podcast tells the stories of Delhi dons, Karachi killers, and Bangladeshi bandits. The Desi Crime Podcast centers on cases from the Indian subcontinent – crimes that are gory, complicated, corrupt and hardly documented. 

Responsibilities:

  • Research Desi Crime Podcast segments.
  • Provide copyediting and fact-checking assistance.
  • Support hosts and producers with pitches, gathering video assets, and other tasks as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Alignment with Lost Debate’s values and beliefs.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Hindi.
  • Self starter and quick learner who will take initiative and finish tasks to completion. 
  • Funny, creative and willing to think outside the box to support original and engaging content.

This position is a two-month independent contractor position and will pay  $1200/ ₹90,000.
